Re: POST OP
Wolfgang:
Thanks.
I had no idea that there was such a section on the Website.

Re: POST OP
Wolfgang:
Here's a suggestion:
How about adding a link from the discussion area to "http://www.dupuytren-online.info/IPP_and_others.html"?
If there is a link like that, I've somehow missed it.
Thus, I never realized that there was more to the Website than just the Discussion Forum.

Links
That's too bad, I guess you missed the best part of our web site! But seriously, I guess you are right: we need to include a link back to the home page of our web site. For the time being we can do that only in a post but the next sw release will also offer the possibility for more links from the forum menu.
Thanks Wolfgang

Re: POST OP
Thanks for asking Frank. Now 11 weeks. My two fingers are still stiff & I still get the stretching, pulling feeling in the palm. Hand swells up when I exercise too much but I believe there is progress albeit very slowly. I believe those who say it takes six months or more. Does anyone get the terrible pain in the tendons running up the wrist? It is quite painful actually.

bocro:-
Yes, I too get pain in the wrist and lower arm but only when I strain to make a fist. This is the only pain I ever get, apart from when I put on the hand splint and force the bent little finger straight again. I'm at 11 weeks, (sounds like a pregnancy term) and my hand is still pretty stiff and swollen. Massage and exercise must be helping but we are definitely in for the long haul.

Re: POST OP
I think we have all the same things Dave, I,m 11 weeks also. Hope it dosen't go beyond 6 months. It improves very slightly each week but as you say we're in for the long haul.

The depressing thing about reading this thread is that if this was a one-off and cured the problem then it might be an easier read. The fact that people have to probably go through this more than once with a varying array of after effects and reoccurrance makes it a difficult read for those of us without contracture yet. However, I appreciate the need for the thread for those who are post-op

Re: POST OP
Hello to all, I am into my 7th week post op and I am starting to get pain in my wrist, forearm and the back of my hand. The wound is healed and I have good movement in the hand but this pain has just started in the past couple of days. I am trying to do everything as normal but at times I am pushing myself through a lot of pain, I do not like to let a bit of pain to beat me. I would like to get back to a little weight training soon. Bocho did your doctor tell you about all these pains and problems we would have post op, I can tell you my doctor did not. Like you I am improving and I would like to think it will be worth all the suffering in the long term. Good luck to all, Frank.

Re: POST OP
Hi Frank, maybe you are overdoing the physio? I would let my hand recover, soak it twice a day in warm water to relax it, and do exercises just to keep blood flowing and avoid tendons to stick to surrounding tissue. Just a little exercise and maybe some light massaging. But I feel with you: I had to promise my hands that they won't have surgery again, otherwise they would have refused further service ...

Re: POST OP
No Frank, my Doctor didn't warn or tell me of any of these issues. In fact, to him everything looked fantastic enough where he said I didn't have to see him anymore. I think the wrist pain (it can be quite painful) could be caused by the night splint. My wrist pain has almost gone now. I am doing some wrist exercises with a 5 lb weight just to build up the muscle & tendons. At this point it's the flexibility & swelling that is still bothersome but I see slight improvements so I remain optimistic of a full recovery. Then on to the other hand.
