Costs for procedures in the US?

New here. Strands in my right hand, ring finger appear a few years ago, and have recently gotten worse (at about 2 degrees) Starting to shop for a Dr. to do something about it.

Can anyone advise what the costs are for various procedures (RT, injection, needles) in the US? I'm insured but with a very high deductible, so would invariably pay out of pocket. Hoping to get a sense early one what I'm getting into here.

Re: Costs for procedures in the US?

Hi there,

My total bill was under $7000.00. I am covered by BCBS and have a deductible of $2500.00 My doctors office estimated $10,000 as the maximum the bill would be. Because I did not use a hospital for services, most of mine was covered as an office visit where a co-pay applied. After all of the treatments I paid under $250.00. I did pay for an MRI that was not covered and that was $1200.00. If you reserach RT costs under mine or Flojo's name you should be able to find the breakdown by procedure code and cost for both of us. I am thinking we posted around Jan or Feb 2010. I have a PPO and own my own policy. The doctors office should be able to estimate the costs by procedure code. Several of us on the forum have posted and compared CPT codes and cost per code. If you can find this information it should be helpful. If you have difficulty finding it let me know and I will research my posting to try to find it.

Re: Costs for procedures in the US compared to Germany ?!

Costs in Germany are much less; about 500 Euro per extremity, that's what I know ...

Re: Costs for procedures in the US?

Depends on whether x-rays (500 Euro) or electron beams (several thousand Euros).

Everything appears to work fine on the web pages, but I never get an email. I've tried three separate times with three separate emails. If you can activate user "polo" that's me and send the password to the email on file that'd do it.
