First day of radiation in Palo Alto
Hi. I just had my first radiation therapy appointment today in Palo Alto. No big deal - it took longer to place my hand on the equipment than it did to do the actual radiation.
Last night my husband got out his calipers and we measured my nodule so we will have something to refer to in a few weeks to see if it shrinks!

Re: First day of radiation in Palo Alto
Diana,
I too started my radiation on Monday. I go everyday this week and back in 6-8 weeks for 5 more days. It is no big deal except for trying to keep the outline/drawings on my hand. I have taken pictures along my course of treatment and hope to be able to share them.
I am glad I started this treatment and hope it works. I think Flora started yesterday also.
Glad you HMO approved it!!

Re: First day of radiation in Palo Alto
I agree. I'm constantly drawing on my hand to keep the markers visible.
I am so thankful that Dr. Chang wrote up the reasoning behind the radiation therapy. He told me that his requests normally are not denied but still it was a welcome surprise that it worked. We are using the money we saved to donate to charity, one of them being the new Dupuytren Society 501(c)3.
Tomorrow I will see Dr. Chang and ask him if he would like to be added to this website as a Dr. providing radiation therapy.
