The response from the Dr. was vague. The problem for Drs. is that Dupuytren's is different for each individual. Additionally, each individual is different in their reaction to Dupuytren's. Many people go their entire lives without having any kind of procedure. Still, it would have been good if the Dr. would have explained the different options available.

My doctor told me to use the pencil test. To return for surgery when I can slip a pencil between my finger and the table.

Sheesh, I would have had to stay there for another procedure after my last NA if that's the standard. Even with the swelling you could still get a pencil under my fingers immediately after my last procedure. Very disappointing.

I am sure I was given the pencil test because my pinkie is only about 10 percent contracted. I was just diagnosed at that appointment
