My pinkey finger has been getting progressively worse just within this last year after I had a fall on my arm. It has a bent in it about 30% towards the inside of my hand. I also have some lumps going towards the center of my hand from my pinkey. My pinkey is also thick under the knuckle. My regular doctor sent me to a hand specialist. who diagnosed me with Dupuytrens in early January and he told me surgery was the only answer. He never mentioned any other techniques. I went home and did some research. Finding this forum and other websites, I thought that NA would certainly be a lot easier and more successful for me. So, I sent pictures of my finger to one of the doctors that do it who lived closest to me. His nurse/assistant called me and said I was "not a candidate." I asked why and she said she didn't know, just that the doctor said that I was not a candidate.

I wasn't happy with that answer so I emailed the doctor asking for more details as to why I was not a candidate. The same nurse/assistant called me back and still couldn't or wouldn't give me any more information as to what my finger was lacking to be a candidate. Do you think I should try a different doctor that does NA? My understanding is to do something as early as possible-correct? I really don't want to have major surgery.

Seek another opinion .You mention other doctors in your area. You must realise NA in the US and Oz is relatively new. NA is not for everybody and 'pip' joints are not easy. Ask the difficult questions -How many have you done. Just my view. When I looked for a hand surgeon I saw four before I settled on one. Regards.

Actually it is so easy to add pictures on flicker be intersting to see more before and after shots and what treatment they had, as I know it can help people see pictures to decide if something works or not for similar conditions

Thank you for the pictures..My finger looked just like yours....It is now streight....Dr. Dinkler was working on a new camera when I was there in the early part of December..It would be good to see some before and after pictures from his office..
