Re: Insurance coverage for RT
I found this.
As a cost reference point, here are price ranges to compare total cost of treatment for Dupuytren contracture for the basic medical procedures currently available, per hand involvement:
Open hand (release) surgery .... $10,000-$16,000
Radiotherapy ........................ $6,000-$10,000 – one report on the internet of a $20,000 RT
Needle aponeurotomy ............ $700-1,000 per finger – one online report of $3,000 at Mayo Clinic
Xiaflex injection ..................... $7,000-9,000 per finger

Re: Insurance coverage for RT
I have a friend who had open surgery on one hand that involved one finger, down into the palm and then a short adjoining cord in the palm only. Billed cost $50,000. Not sure what the insurance paid.

Re: Insurance coverage for RT
Interesting data. Typical costs in Germany would be
Open hand (release) surgery .... $ 1,200 - $ 4,000 (the lower one for outpatient surgery which is becoming common), price does not include physio
Radiotherapy ........................ $ 700 - $ 2,000+ (the lower one for x-rays; no CT or MRI before treatment)
Needle aponeurotomy ............ $ 300 - 500 per finger and whithout cost for splint
Xiaflex injection ..................... $ 1,700 per injection (finger might need more than 1 injection), without cost for splint
So even surgery seems to be cheaper in Germany. I don't want to suggest coming to Germany for surgery but it's interesting that German doctors and clinics are still making money with the above pricing. They most have lower costs or the US doctors are making lots of money or both.
