Interesting - Dr. Eaton and Dr. Kirkpatrick
I was doing some internet research tonight and came across this article.

Dr. Kirkpatrick is the doctor I've been seeing for awhile. I knew she has worked closely with Dr. Eaton. On each visit with her, she has reiterated that she felt new procedures/treatments were really on the horizon. This article doesn't have any real earth shattering news for most of us, but it was interesting to read.

Thanks for posting this. Do note, however, that it is from Dec 2010 and there was still limited info on Xiaflex. Also, Dr. Eaton never did adopt Xiaflex as a treatment except for one patient, I believe. I don't think he's ever publicly stated why. I'm also puzzled by the statement that in CA Medicare won't do Xiaflex other than an OR-- I wasn't aware that Dr. Denkler--or any other Xiaflex practitioner in CA --was doing the injections other than as an office procedure.
Finally, the most depressing thing about this article is the statement about extensive scar tissue formation after NA. This is one of the reasons I think it is extremely important to be careful when one chooses a doctor for NA. On the one hand, a doctor who is very aggressive and grinds the needle into your hand with lots of blood and skin tears "might" be slightly more succesful initially with release but this comes with a higher risk of complications and much, much more scar tissue formation. It's not a trade-off I'm happy with especially since I did NOT get a release that lasted more than a few months.

Yes, I saw it was an older article. I was just happy to see my doctor on a panel with Dr. Eaton. That was my main reason for posting. Dr. Kirkpatrick is in the metro Atlanta area and others might find that good to know when looking for someone experienced with DC.
Dr. K does not use Xiaflex either. She prefers NA. There is another doctor in the practice who does use Xiaflex and if you really want to go that route, Dr. K. will have you seen him. I've been very impressed with her knowledge and years of work with DC.
