Is NA still available in Florida?

Last December Dr. Gates in Naples, FL performed Needle Aponeurotomy on my right hand with great success. Some of the contracture has returned, but still so much better than it was and I am very happy I had this procedure done. Recently I sent a friend to Dr. Gates. Dr. Gates informed my friend that he no longer offered NA. He also said Medicare and other insurance no longer covered the procedure and that some of his colleagues were being sued by Medicare. Does anyone know anything about this? Is NA still offered? I see Dr. Gates is still on the list of NA providers, but his web site no longer mentions it.

I don't know about Florida, but I had NA two months ago in San Francisco and the Dr. never mentioned that there would be a problem with Medicare and/or insurance reimbursing him for the procedure. There has been discussion on this forum about possibly Medicare not reimbursing for RT (Radiotherapy), but I've never read anything about problems with NA.

Have that doctor call Dr. Denkler's office and ask. Those girls know all about insurance. It may be a problem with the # they give for the procedure.
If it has changed so that NA is no longer covered, everybody needs to know about it. I can't believe they would cover Xiaflex and not NA. NA is a fraction of the cost and it works.

Oh, wait, WARNING: cynicism ahead. Pharmaceutical companies rule. Don't know if they have that kind of clout though. They can keep things from getting approved, but don't know if they can stop something that has been approved for years.

Re: Is NA still available in Florida?

Looks like a false alarm. Other docs in Florida are still performing NA and accepting insurance. Why Dr. Gates in Naples (he was good at it!) suddenly quit seems to be something of a mystery.
