I had the NA procedure performed by Dr Rizzo on 4-17-09 and had great sucess. I had stage 3 involvement and had been told it was unlikely I would see any significant improvement by this procedure. The procedure is not terribly uncomfortable and I am healing well. Dr Rizzo is very good at this technique.

I can now report on NA at Mayo.

Dr. Rizzo worked on my thumb contacture yesterday. This was an extensive and problematic contracture, and he was able to acheive a partial release, which is much appreciated. Becuase of the location and extent of the contracture, the attempt to rlease it was difficult, and painful, but believe me - the next day, you are s-o-o-o glad you didn't have another surgery.

I recommend Dr. Rizzo. He's a well qualified surgeon who learned this techniquie from Dr. Eaton, is cautiously agressive in applying it and has behind him the coniderable resources of the Mayo Clinic. My treatment include X-Rays and ultrasound imaging to locate the nerves and blood vessels before going in.

I have insurance issues and may end up paying a lot of money out of pocket- but I will probably be going back to Dr. Rizzo for more NA in the future.
