Flojo,

I'm also experiencing soreness in the thumb MCP joints at times, and I can't extend my thumbs as far away from the index fingers as I once could. I'd wondered if the Dupuytren's could be part or all of the cause. I don't feel any obvious cords in the thumbs, but the palms are so tight that I guessed there might be pulling on the thumbs just from the fascia changes there. Thanks for the information.

You describe your thumbs just like mine. One more way that Dupuytren's can be deceiving. Dupuytren's dupes us : )

Consider the possibility that it is all Dupuys.
