RT at Palo Alto

Interesting, Diana! Please let us know how things are going. If Dr. Chang is experienced in treating keloids he knows what to do. We can also provide him with copies of papers. Our radiotherapy section on this web site, specificallythe literature list http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radioth...literature.html might be useful, too.

Good luck (a little luck won't hurt with Dupuytren's)

Wolfgang

I just met with Dr. Chang from the Radiation/Oncology Dept. at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation offices. He is in-network with my medical group and much closer to me than San Diego where Dr. T is. I had Fedex'd his office a stack of paperwork including printed out studies on radiation therapy a few days before my apt. per his nurse's request. Dr T. also sent him the notes from our appointment.
...
I also asked him if we went through with this treatment if he would be ok if we put his name etc. on the Dupuytren's website as another Dr. that offers this sort of therapy and he seemed interested.

This is a question for Newman.

How did Prof. S. determine that you did not need to receive the 2nd 5-day regimen of RT? I am currently getting treated by a doctor that has not treated Dupuytren's before and when I asked him how he would know if I needed the 2nd session, he said "that it was up to ME!" Yikes. I don't know if I can make that call.

Re: Planning appointment for RT at Scripps

Hi,

I am the Philip whos radiotherapy treatment is detailed in the 'Personal Experiences' section of the website, I had my treatment 10 years ago, and was only given 1 GY each day for 5 days in a row, no further treatment.....so I guess there is some latitude in the intensity of the treatment, even a treatment as low as 1 GY seems to have worked for me.
