Copy and paste the link to the video below posted by another reader:
What does Dupuytren's looks like? very good, easy to follow video from Dr. Eaton would be a help to many who come to this forum wondering if they have DD or something else

As far as the timelime between finding out and it becoming a real problem, no two people are alike. Read as much as you can on this forum and come back with more questions.

Re: Thinl i have Dupuytren
This is a bit of an oversimplification but generally speaking the only effective treatment at this time for slowing the progression of Dupuytren's at this time is Radiotherapy treatment and the earlier it is performed the more effective it is in slowing the disease.
Hand surgeons are likely to have the most experience and be able to provide an accurate diagnosis but be aware that most of them will recommend a fasciectomy which is much riskier in terms of nerve damage both from the surgery and the common use of a tourniquet during the 90 minute procedure and that recovery time can be many months and require the services of a physical therapist during that time. NA and Xiaflex injections are much safer and recovery times are much shorter.

Re: Thinl i have Dupuytren
(Surgery) "require the services of a physical therapist during that time". I didn't have a physical therapist and my surgeon didn't think it necessary. I had excellent results from the surgery.
