Very fast growing cord

I just had NA on a cord in the webbing between my thumb and index finger. At the same time I had another surgery for failed trigger finger release because of my DD. My hands was wrapped for 11 days because if the other surgery.

The NA seemed to work very well, and I now have much better extension in my thumb. However, during that same time I developed a new cord near the same ate that is growing very quickly.

This disease is so frustrating then it is so active and growing so quickly. I have had 4 hand surgeries in the last 19 months. I have both hands and one foot effected at this point. I with this activity would just slow down.

Re: Very fast growing cord

Hi Sherrin,

radiotherapy http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radiation_therapy.html is probably the only means for slowing down early Dupuytren's. Drinking no alcohol seems to be supportive as well but difficult to say how big that effect is.

A series of surgeries might trigger new growth of DD elsewehere and in worst case lead to repeated surgeries which will be increasingly difficult. Surgery is a good therapy for those who recover well from it and experience no fast growth of new nodules.
