Xiaflex Study Results
This popped up in my news feed this morning, thought some of you might find it interesting. This forum has made me seriously wary of Xiaflex but I want to keep up to date on study results, even if it was conducted by BioSpecifics. Comparing of the use of local vs. no anesthesia seems like a waste of research dollars to me. I can't fathom having such a procedure done with only a bullet to bite down on.

The American part of the study is the follow up with patients in the 2007 Stage 3 trials that enabled Xiaflex to gain FDA approval. They are following these patients for five years-- one year after the trials and then this study that is a four year study (think I have the details correct). As far as I know, it's the only data there is although a substantial percentage of the docs conducting the trials are "consultants" to or paid by Auxillium. But that's the way lots of drug trials for FDA approval are done these days.
