Confused
I am a 55 year old woman. I have been to several Dr.'s regarding problems with both hands. I have thickening cords in both hands. All 4 fingers are slightly beginning to contract on my right hand. In addition, I can't close my hands to make a fist. It hurts to move my fingers and they won't close. The problem with not being able to close my hands doesn't seem to be associated with Duypuytren's. In addition, the skin on my fingers appears very smooth and shiny. I also have a plantar fibroma? on the arch of my left foot. I have seen several Dr.s, two of whom think I have DC. One of them thinks I also have palmar fasciitis which I can't find much information about.
Mainly, I am wondering if any of you have a problem with not being able to make a fist or bend your fingers inward? Have any of you been told you also have palmar fasciitis? Do any of you know a good Dr. who specializes in these types of hand problems? I live in Southern California. Ideally, I would prefer a Dr. in my area, but am also willing to travel. I just want to make sure I have the right diagnosis. One other concern I have is that the Dr. said that palmar fasciitis can be associated with various types of cancer. I would appreciate any help any of you can give me!

Re: Confused
Welcome to the forum webbiegirl
We don't have much discussion on here about palmar fasciitus. Dr Keith Denkler, who is a plastic surgeon and highly regarded for his skill treating DD with NA and Xiaflex, may be worth a call to see if he knows someone else who you can be referred to for a further diagnosis and help.
In Germany, plantar fasciitis is treated with RT, so maybe if your palmar fasciitis is confirmed, that would be an option for you.
Best wishes

Welcome!
The arch of the foot is a common site for Ledderhose, which is like a Dupuytren nodule but in the foot. Have you visited a podiatrist? Many of us have nodules in both feet and hands.
If the contracture of the hand is still so little that you can flatten your hand by pressing it on a table, it might not be too late for Radiation Therapy (RT). In Southern Calif there is an RT octor at the Scripps Clinic - see the clinics tab in the menus at the top of this page. RT is also used for Ledderhose.
