Costs of Various DC Therapies And Treatments For The Uninsured

Since I am new here, does the site have any links to costs of the many DC therapies and treatments for patients uninsured? My first 2 cortisone shots were given by a very good ortho hand specialist who had a sliding scale. She treats many musicians, like myself, carpenters, jack hammer operators, other doctors, etc. My first visit and shots was around $200 cash. It definitely helped for about 6-8 months, but now it looks like I'm ready for visit no 2.

This web site does not give costs but many additional info about available treatments (see above menue). Giving costs is nearly impossible because they vary so much, depending on country and clinic. Yet our forum has some information on cost. You might use the search feature of the forum ("Search forum" on left menu) to find posts discussing costs.

Cortisone is actually very dangerous to use as it can cause a complete breakdown of the tendon. Lots of tennis pro career were cut short as a result when this treatment was widely used in the 1970's. I would find a new doctor and one that performs NA procedures.

NA is longer lasting treatment and the cost is roughly $1000 in the USA with a certified hand surgeon and performed in their office. Procedure takes an hour and recovery time is 2 days.

I have met with four different certified hand surgeons for Xiaflex and with three to discuss NA vs. fasciectomy and by and large I found that most had little or know knowledge of current treatment options and most had little or no first hand experience with performing NA and Xiaflex.

It is worth the time and expense to travel to the office of one of the experienced surgeons like Dr. Eaton or Dr. Denkler. With Dr. Denkler's office in Larkspur it would be easy to combine a NA procedure with sightseeing in San Francisco and the Napa Sonoma wine country.

I have had a NA and Xiaflex injections on one hand and both were equally effective.
