I was recently treated with Xiaflex for Dupuytren's in my little finger at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle Washington, and was shocked to see a charge of $10,317.70 for one vial of xiaflex (all doctor fees were in addition to this charge).

I am hoping to find out what other patients have been charged for Xiaflex. I understand from reading other information that the wholesale cost is about $3250. Is this kind of mark up normal??

I received the $1200 rebate from the Xiaflex company, but it was the Xiaflex representative who urged me to investigate since she had never seen a charge that high for one vial.

After investigating with Virginia Mason Hospital to see if I was accidentally charged for multiple vials, I was informed that that is the price of one vial and the ($7000?) drug mark up was to cover administrative expenses such as "shipping and handling" and "storage!"

I had Xiaflex through my local VA hospital recently - they charged me $8 for the vial of Xiaflex, and the office visits were $50 each. I have no idea how much the Xiaflex cost the VA, but I'm happy with the treatment I get from the VA!

I was charged $18,000 for my first injection in April and after my insurance paid their negotiated price i had a $1400 out of pocket cost. What a huge game and not in the consumer's favor!
