Re: Just Diagnosed Looking For San Diego Doctor

If you are willing to go to Phoenix, Dr. Joe Haber is one of the best hand surgeons available. My surgeon was actually one of his teachers during his residency 20 years ago.

Re: Just Diagnosed Looking For San Diego Doctor

Hi just diagnosed, looking for a doctor in san diego with experience in this. I have Anthem Blue Cross Silver Plan Insurance and am usually treated at UCSD. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I suggest you see Bryan Leek, Hand/Shoulder specialist, who just joined UCSD. He was formerly with another medical group where I was a patient of his. He is a very caring doctor, cares about the pain you are experiencing and gives a painless cortisone injection!!! He is the only doctor I know who calls you (or your caregiver) to see how you're doing after you had surgery earlier in the day. He performed reverse rotator cuff surgery on my 90yo mom and in just three months, she has pretty much full use of her right arm. In fact, I just took her for her 3 month follow up appointment. He knows the issues I've been having with my hands but I had him take a quick look at my hand and said "Where did this come from"? pointing to the node and the now-present cord which appeared overnight! His reply Dupuytren's Disease. Now I can only hope that UCSD takes my insurance!!!
