Looking for a surgeon in South Africa after unsuccessful surgery
Hi all
I had surgery for Dupuytren's 3 months ago tomorrow. It is a disaster. I have been left with a claw. My little finger is neither straight nor bent - it is stuck at about a 45 degree angle. It is my dominant hand. I've basically become crippled in that hand.
My surgeon now wants me to go for intensive physiotherapy, including wax therapy and cryotherapy. I can't see how it's going to help, but I'll do anything.
I am fairly certain I'm going to need more surgery to correct this mess. I don't plan on giving the same surgeon another chance at messing this up more. I am currently in Kuwait, but from South Africa. So my question is - does anyone know a surgeon in South Africa that has been successful with Dupuytren's?
I appreciate any comments.

Re: Looking for a surgeon in South Africa after unsuccessful surgery
Personally I can't see how waxing or cryo could help you to get your hand functional again but I am just a patient. How about a second opinion before embarking on this kind of physio? Unfortunately I can't recommend a surgeon in SA or Kuwait. But there ought to be good hand surgeons in both countries.
