    Unusually I have contracture of my right hand, index finger! It is of the 2nd knuckle and after some thought I feel confident this may have been brought about by years of morse code operation in my late teens and early twenties in the Royal Australian Navy. The index finger is balanced on the morse key and and continuous vibration of transmitting signals for countless hours over 5 years may explain the disease in the index figure and further support the theory of workplace cause.

    Appreciate any feedback.

    That's interesting. Is it confirmed as a contracture by a Dupuytren's cord? Any other symptoms in the same and other hand?

    I also have contracture of the PIP joint right index finger with a big knuckle pad and it was the first finger and only affected finger for about 3 years. No known trauma though.

    Thanks for reply. I saw a specialist some time ago and he considered it to be DD although I was not overly confident in his knowledge of DD. I have no other signs in either hand!

    I have no knuckle pad and contracture is approx 50 deg although this has been stable for some years.
