NA query, please advise.
Hello fellow sufferers,
I read in one of the many posts on the DC problem some time back but I have since lost any bookmarks to the pages I read.
Can someone advise me about ''going'' to France[Paris I think] and receiving NA through a [female] doctor, I think it was as such?
This apeneurotomist would proceed with NA w/o a prior visit, but would ask for images or videos of the affected hand.
I remember there were several ppl who received this treatment with a fair amount of success.

Do you live in the US? (where?) If so, there are lots of excellent and experienced docs providing NA in the States. No need to travel to Paris-- unless you want to have a fun trip Search on the "treatment" tab at the top of the page and you'll find a list of all docs doing NA through the world.

hi,
I heard that there was someone[possibly a woman] in france[paris?], who could do the procedure on the day one arrives[flying in to CDG airport and then flying out same day].
the discussion I saw was on this site but am unable to find the discussion.
I live in Dublin Ireland. The price was approx. 250 eur. for the NA. She uses pictures or a video representation.

Grand, ok. I didn't see the link that was included in ur post Diane...thanks much. I think it was the Dr Manet.
the pics and video are of one's hand. he/she has the assessment then of what they can do.

decrust; I have now had NA done 6 times in Paris. I have extensive DD in both hands and have resigned myself to the idea that every 18 months or so I will go back to Paris for NA. I could get NA done in Australia now where I live but it seems to me that I am better off seeing experienced doctors that have done thousands of procedures.
In Paris I have seen both Dr Badois and Dr Manet Chopin. Both are very good and the cost is 300 euros per hand. Dr Badois is a bit older and has very good english. Dr Manet Chopin is younger and english not so good but I have not found that to be a problem. Dr Manet Chopin straightened fingers on my right hand just last week. Both are rheumatologists which is a good thing in my view as they will not push you towards surgery.

I wonder about the build up of cords when NA is repeated so many times? Is there an increase since the cord is left in? Does the cord grow back together? With my surgery the diseased material was completely removed and it is hard to tell that I ever had Dupuytren's.

callie; With my surgery the diseased material was completely removed as well but almost immediately the disease appeared on the the other hand and over time returned to the original hand. Not in the immediate area of the surgery but close by.
With NA the area where the cord is broken seems to go soft. I have had cords reappear in the same spot but doesn't seem to be any worse than the previous time.

That's exactly what I had experienced after surgery, the only difference being that the disease started in six new sites in both hands (3 each) within two months after the surgery.

When Dupuytren's has flared up for me it has been in multiple places (other hand or feet) almost simultaneously. It seems as though the disease has traveled through the bloodstream or some other signal. This has happened when no procedure had happened.
