When are follow-up appointments scheduled after RT?
Do Prof. S and other experienced practitioners of RT for Dupuytren's schedule follow-up appointments at a certain time after treatment, for example a year later? And are they having these follow-up appointments because it's good for the patient, or only to provide data for their research?
I'm asking because I had RT earlier this year, and I wonder if there's a reason for me to have a follow-up appointment. I was the first DD patient for the radiation oncologist. He said that I could come back after 3 months but he thought I should just cancel my appointment if I had no problems, and that's what I did.

Re: When are follow-up appointments scheduled after RT?
ProfS does an annual review for a few years after. I have had two, conducted remotely by email, photos and a pro-forma. I think the main purpose is to add to his records for research purposes, but of course it provides a vehicle for two way patient doctor communication.
