Ledderhose~sq~s Yahoo Group

There is a Yahoo Group for Ledderhose's disease with a couple of photos on it that show very large bumps.

Metallic Hemiarthroplasty

Hi guys,

I am about to have something called Lesser MPJ Hemi Implant done on my right foot, second toe. Do you know anybody has had this surgery done? It is my first surgery so I am very nervous. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Kim

I Have had three surgeries to remove my lumps!

You asked if anyone had had the surgery to remove the lumps well I have and my story is explained in many of the other posts to your question. I started out with a pea sized lump on the arch of my foot and after three surgeries and plastic surgeon intervention I now have a scar 3 inches long and 1 to 1.5 inches long on the bottom of my foot. It is so hideous that I never take my socks off at home unless alone and I am very aware to the fact I must keep it hidden while swimming or sun bathing. I recommend you not have the surgery unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. As I age with basically half a foot I wonder what problems await me as my skin shrinks and deteriorates with age. Will I be able to stand or walk if I make it to my 80's?
