Pain

Yeah, my hands hurt all the time too. This Dupuytren's Disease is a bitch! Even pain pills don't help that much.

Pain? Surgery?

I have Dupuytren's and have not have pain at all. I am stage II. Please read more on this forum before you have surgery. I am NOT against any surgery, but from all the reading and research I have done, it makes sense to have the needle procedure first. It is cheaper and brings results faster. I have an appointment in Paris in January, but there is a new (the first) doctor that does the procedure in Jupiter, FL. Please, Tammy, check out all your options and the best of luck to you. Traudl

Hand pain

Before I had NA on my little finger, my hand was painful most of the day. After NA my hand and my finger are much better. I have little pain now.

Burning ache

I have only been diagnosed two months ago, following surgery for a growth on the base of my middle finger and now have palm nodule and contracture of the middle finger. Going to PT and have burning pain throughout the day. Mornings are terrible with trying to get finger moving at all. I am in the process of reading all the posts about DC. If I stop massaging and exercising, it goes right back to stiff and bent.

pain

I Just found out I have DC and It is starting to contract with cord on ring finger dimple and tward the middle a lump that is sore. even the top of my hand hurts although I was in therapy for DeQuervains Tenosynovitis. I have just over last night and today been finding out about Dr. Eaton's success with AV. Then I got to this page and read on and found out that someone started out with this in one hand and is now noticing it in the other hand and in there feet!!!! it alarmed me because I too have been having trouble after sitting a while at the end of the day my feet dont want to work or move I sorta scoot them along for a while then they are ok once I am up and moving for a while but bother me. I am wondering if there is any association to this problem and DC? can it be throughout the whole body. and could it come from a liver mal function?

The "No pain with DC" line comes just about the same time the surgeon utters the ultimate inaccuracy: "Surgery is the only form of treatment". Of course, he means no pain until he's finished with you and you begin recovery. He is right, however, that you leave it alone until the finger(s) reach about 45 degree of contraction. However, with NA, this form of treatment can be done sooner. 30 to 35 degrees. And you'd get to see Paris! See "treatment by Dr. Eaton". Sorry you had to join our little community. However, it may be that you never need treatment at all.

Pain with Dupuytren~sq~s Disease

I just was told that I have Dupuytren's Disease. The doctor gave a flyer and when I read there is no pain associated with this disease I said maybe that is not what I have at all and the doctor made a mistake. My knuckles hurt and now my wrist hurts. He says there is no reason for my hand to hurt especially my wrist, but then in the next sentence he is telling me to take over the counter pain killers and if those don't work to get a prescription from my GP to get stronger medicine. It does not make sense to me. I am glad I found this site. You all are great to share your information.

Pain and DC

Hi there!
A friend of mine is suffering from this disease for 30 years now. There have been 16 operations (!!!) in both hands. He can hardly use his fingers, AND HE IS IN PAIN!!!!
Every single day. The doctors tell him that this is not possible (and give him painkillers). Is there anyone who knows a GOOD doctor for him. Or somethingelse to help him.
PLEASE!!!!
