I am not American, but know that with our own vets, they do consider special circumstances and will fly vets around the country for stays at other vetrans hospitals if that is close to particular treatments.

Is there anyone you could lobby to raise the funds? Legion?
Could you print out the info from Dr. Eatons site and give it to your doctor? Your worker? NA is covered by some insurance companies. The financial burden of covering your surgery will probably be more then the flight and treatment itself. Could you point this out to them?
