I received a reply from the Department of Health and they gave the names of two consultants who could possibly perform NA in the UK under the NHS??? If you e-mail the above I'll copy the reply to you.

This may be the moment we have been waiting for. I went on www.dailymail.co.uk then searched for 29th August as Sunday came up. Then clicked on 'health' on the left, read the article and left a comment. It needs more of us to comment and get someone to listen.

Well, it was a waste of time making comments on the daily mail about the novelist who had surgery for Dupuytren's. Twice I have done it and they are just ignoring me.

Hello! had surgery 5weeks ago for lumps in my hand and finger that was being drawn down to my palm.It was painful so I thought surgery would help,I didn`t know there was an alternative (NA).Just to let anyone who is considering the surgery,please think very carefully as afterwards it is very painful, mine is still swollen and painful and can hardly use my hand(it was my ring finger right hand).I would not do it again.My left hand has nodules which are painful at times,and I can`t lay my hand flat,could anyone tell me when the best time to have NA before or after it affects the fingers?

Marjorie,
I am really sorry you have been ignored by the Daily Mail. I may try a traditional letter rather than their website and see what happens.
It was a good idea to post to the Joanne Harris website too, as if a few people do it, at least she will know and possibly pass the info onto her surgeon. We can live in hope!

Norma,
Sorry to hear that you are still suffering from the effects of your operation. Hopefully, things will improve daily.
NA should be done once your finger starts to pull down. Have a look at www.handcenter.org there is a lot of information there if you look for it. Click on Dupuytren's then Q&As.
Hope this helps. If you want details of practitioners of NA in Europe please ask. There are none in the UK
