Patandpaula, Just to let you know I gave up on verapamil. Overall, didn't seem to do anything for me.

Re: Started verapamil gel this week- PD Labs
I have been taking verapamil orally for about 10 years for prevention of migraines. If the cream is supposed to help Ledderhose, I wonder why the oral medication does not have any effect at all on the Ledderhose nodules.
By the way, the nodules on my foot shrink and grow (back and forth) for no apparent reason. I think it is inflammation coming and going, with the original nodules probably staying more or less stable. However, this winter, I developed a new nodule on each foot.

The size of the nodule is often set by inflammation of the surrounding tissue. Your observation might very well be explained in this way. Another question would be what fosters and what reduced inflammation. Does diet have a role in this?

Re: Started verapamil gel this week- PD Labs
As far as I know my diet has not changed, but I too often suspect food intolerances of some kind as causing the inflammation. I do water aerobics in a chlorinated swimming pool in summer. This seems to increase the inflammation around the nodules each summer, but the new nodules (without inflammation) appeared in winter.

Re: Verapamil
a local compounding pharmacy in NJ sells it, 60.00 for a 30 gram tube (Hopewell Pharmacy). I'm considering it, anyone had any luck with plantar fibromatosis?

Re: Started verapamil gel this week- PD Labs
For those of you suffering from Ledderhose nodules...has anyone considered radiation therapy?
I had two large nodules in my left foot treated with RT by Dr. Tripuraneni in Scripps La Jolla, CA. in Nov. 09.... the nodules are still there, but they are definitely smaller and softer.... at least that's my personal experience.
I also use custom made orthodics. The nodules of my foot never bothered me when walking, I did the RT to hopefully prevent the nodules from continuing to grow.

Re: Started verapamil gel this week- PD Labs
Hello, Just wanted to update. The verapamil did nothing for me. It did however, make my feet so slippery that I feared I would fall, so discontinued as I am on a breast cancer drug that causes brittle bones. It just wasn't worth it to me, and really, where is the data....

Re: Started verapamil gel this week- PD Labs
bethann, the data is in the form of numerous posts over the years, here and on other forums, from people who tried this stuff and confirmed that it does nothing.
You've now added to that data. Thanks.

Hi Luba--Do you know if Dr. Tripuraneni has any data on treating with RT that I can access on the web? I'd like to show data to a local doc. Thank you!
