what is fast growing

I'd like to know how fast your nodules grew and if you think mine are growing quickly. I really don't have any sense of this yet.

I first noticed my first nodule last July. Although I had no idea what it was and just thought it was some type of strange location and reaction to a bug bite that never went away. I was finally diagnosed in October with DD.

In the beginning of January, I noticed it spread from my ring finger to my pinky and now at the end of January I can see it starting on my middle finger. Do you think this is fast or is this a normal growth rate?

Re: what is fast growing

Australia Calling, In 2007 I had a repeat surgery and within 4 weeks I had nodules springing up in the web of of my hand between the thumb and index finger adjacent to the surgery and also on my other index finger. They were growing fast. This reaction was the cause of me finding the Dupuytren Society, which led me to investigate having Radiotherapy to stop the growth . I was first diagnosed at 35 yr and no surgery until some 15 years later. Your experience would seem to be fast growing. Other users on the forum have also written similar to your experience. It is different for each of us. You mention that the disease is spreading to other fingers .You dont say if the progression is the formation of cords or more nodules. Do you have any contraction. Radiotherapy works best before any contraction. Investigate Radiotherapy and don't wait too long.
Regards.

Re: what is fast growing

Newman,

I don't have any contractions yet. To be honest with you, I'm not sure if I have cords forming yet, but I think I do. I have started looking for doctors in my insurance plan who do radiation therapy, but so far I haven't been able to find any. I am in the process of going to a specialist for another condition I have. I think some of the medications and supplements I am taking for that is helping to make the DD progress according to some of the other things I have read on this site and else where. I want to talk to this specialist about that as well, but I will keep looking for someone to do the radiation therapy. Did the radiation therapy stop the growth of your additional nodules?
