Re: Anyone with successful treatment of knuckle (PIP) joint? Any doctors in NJ?

Three weeks ago I had NA perfomed on both hands by Dr. Grabow in Las Vegas who by the way, studied under Dr Eaton. My piano playing is better than anytime in the last year without practicing. All I need is the motivation to practice a couple of hours a day. My reach is back to a tenth from an octave and the pain is gone.

I chose NA over surgery for several reasons:

* I didn't want to spend a year or so recovering from two separate operations with uncertain outcome.

* I wanted to be awake during the procedure.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Special thanks to Terry for the uplifting comments about the piano playing! I'm on the third movement of Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata and I really want to finish it!

For the sake of due diligence I will see one more doctor, but I've pretty much decided to have Dr. Gary Pess (Eatontown, NJ) do my NA procedure. He was very nice, seemed very knowledgeable and experienced (about 3,000 fingers over the last 5 years).

To thank everyone and help those in the 'consideration' stage, I will add a page to one of my websites where I will document my experience with before/after photos. Give me a few days to get it up and running, but it will be at:

http://www.soriceconsulting.com

Just click on the 'Dupuytren Page' button at the bottom of the page...

Good luck, Scion!

PS: Could you possibly include a link to www.dupuytren-online.info on your web site? It helps patients finding our site.

I've added the page to my website:

Just click the 'Dupuytren Page' button at the bottom of the page. I'm no website designer so please bear with me...

I'll keep everyone posted as things progress.

Scion thanks for posting the photos and please let us know how it goes. So, Brian, you said you did NOT have a cord on your pinkie when you had NA done? I would like to have something done to this pinkie before it gets really bad, but there isnt a cord, at least not one I can see, only the nodule on the joint and the nodules in my palm. Eaton said he couldnt help me but didnt say why they couldnt help me. Any info from anyone with this kind of problem, nodule causing contraction with no cord will be appreciated.

Brian, how did he do the NA? Did he stick the needle in your finger or in your palm? Thanks again.
