How long was it before you could actually use your hand?

I am having surgery on Wednesday...Regional Fasciectomy. I'm curious how long it was before you could work, type, eat, etc...I know the recovery is long. Im just concerned about returning to work and the use of my hand. I was hoping to return to work after 10 days. I am a waitress. Any comments on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Carrie

Waitressing could be awhile. I had a friend who went to work the following day driving a forklift. There are many jobs that a person could do that aren't manual labor. Eating is not much of a problem. But, you will realize how important it is to have two hands. Good practice will be to use just one hand for a couple of hours to see where the problems might be.
