Pregnancy and LD

Hello,
I was first diagnosed with LD in my left arch 3 years ago at age 34. A year later, nodules appeared in my right middle finger. Aside from a cortisone shot in my finger, I have been able to manage with minimal pain and it hasn't interfered with my quality of life. I am an active runner and play soccer 2-3 times a week.

Fast forward to June, I found out we are expecting our first. I now have a second nodule in my left arch, and one on my right index finger. I find I'm not able to walk long distances or stand for extended periods of time. I have plantar fasciitis, and regular throbbing pains in my left foot.

I am waiting to see my physio doctor again. I have tried various stretches, rollers, orthotics and heel inserts but the pain persists. Walking on grass and softer surfaces is a bit better. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a progression related to pregnancy? Thank you!

Re: Pregnancy and LD

Hi Gillian

We have a fairly old thread that discussed this https://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_...sq-s-3_339.html but as is often the case there's no real pattern. I also looked at the FB groups and it seems mixed, some progressed, and some declined during the pregnancy!

For the fasciitis I would look into gait analysis and running shoe recommendations, run on soft surfaces, continue with the stretches, ice after running, and try the boot at night in bed if you can tolerate it. Good luck.
