Re: Progression/regression and timing of RT treatment

Hi Nan, you might also have a look at http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radioth...de_effects.html and http://www.dupuytren-online.de/downloads...20Dupuytren.htm specifically. No real life statistics are available with regard to developing cancer after Dupuytren RT because not a single such case has been reported so far but the risk is probably quite low. The main reason is that the hand and foot can tolerate much higer doses than other organs.

I am curious about your concern regarding cancer. I have spoken to at least 4 oncologists about this all of whom place the risk of cancer at some sort of number that is incredible low. Like .0 something. Has Dr. T told you something differently?

Thanks Wolfgang,

Sometimes the information available on this subject gets missed on the site. Just glad it is there for people to read. I thought that perhaps throwing in the opinion of several oncologists I also spoke to might help put people's minds to ease on this subject. And, to help them question anyone that tells them there is a substantial or even moderate risk of contracting cancer from RT. Frankly, it was the least of my concerns.

Nan
