Xiaflex injection to finger itself?

Hello,
I have had one surgery (awful) and 3 Xiaflex injections. Unfortunately, the dupuytrens on the pinky finger where I've had both Xiaflex & surgery has returned full-force. Most of the scar tissue from the Dupuytrens has formed in my pinky finger itself, not as a nodule in the palm. My Doctor has said they will only do Xiaflex injections to the palm area and NOT to the finger area itself.

Has another had success with Xiaflex injections in the finger area? My pinky is nearly 2X the size of the pinky on my other hand and I refuse to go through that surgery again.

Thank you

Re: Xiaflex injection to finger itself?

Hi the pinkie is nearly always difficult to treat successfully, if at all, with any of the treatments. Your doctor might just be expressing the factual difficulty of this or lacks the confidence to treat it with Xiaflex or your specific condition is too difficult or not appropriate. The pinkie can be treated with Xiaflex but as expressed already the risks are greater and may not succeed well anyway. I found at least one previous post that reflects both the success and failure see https://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_...52835970.html#2 Best wishes SB
