Re: ALCOHOL

Why not contact the author, Dr. Rosanne Lanting? Her email address is on the abstract. As you are interested in that subject you might also contact Alexis Descatha, who found a correlation between (heavier) drinking and Dupuytren disease in a French stduy (GAZEL) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24477316.

Wolfgang

Thanks for that new link. Would be interesting to have it on the literature page or on a page listing research studies. Sounds like most of the research is reserved for personal or commercial use rather than furthering the knowledge about the disease?

    Re: ALCOHOL

Who and what do you mean with personal or commercial use?

All these studies have been published and the usual way to get the full paper is either to purchase it from the journal or contact the author directly. About 50 -100 papers are published every year on Dupuytren's, depending on which languages you include, and we don't list all of them. If you are interested in specific ones you can either use the lists referred to in our literature overview or go to PubMed.

That's what I meant by commercial use. As opposed to sharing the knowledge broadly in the interest of science and patients. I shouldn't have to pay in order to know what actions make sense in order to not make my disease worse, if that information exists. I may contact one or the other author.
