acupuncture and massage
Has anyone had success with acupuncture or massage for early stages of DC?

Re: acupuncture and massage
You can search our forum for acupuncture (use the Search function in the menu at the top). If I recall it right massage or acupuncture won't help much. Dupuytren is a benign tumor. Massaging might warm the tissue and slow down the tumor a little but that's very speculative. Still, every hand is different and you might try it but don't expect miracles.

Re: acupuncture and massage
Quite the reverse as my physician at the time, a Dr. Dawn Motyka in Santa Cruz, recommended a saline injection and acupuncture which provided no benefit and delayed by getting proper treatment by more than 9 months. Massage and acupuncture may seem less invasive and safer and easier to accept but the downside of this approach is in delaying treatment for a progressive disease which is about as wise as doing this with a cancer.
XRT is the only way to address the disease itself. Massage can definitely help with mobility by stretching out the tissue in the hand but this is more in the form of stretching and physical therapy of a sort than traditional massage of the hand. Better to invest your money in a splint or real treatment with x-ray or NA.
