Re: A New Boy on the DD Block .... with yet more questions ...

Had the good fortune today to go and have a visit with another medical member of the listed in the IDS UK constituency. Happily they enforced that I have no sign of LD and were not convinced that the signs on my right hand were currently DD. Said that I had VERY early DD on my left hand and said - as Spanishbuddha had so kindly originally suggested - that I could most prudently wait and see and could have RT when I thought it most most deserving. Was told that these things can - at certain points - rest. And here was I worrying that I was going to have a contracture in a matter of weeks; nay days .. and like Wolfgang kindly suggested: '100% NO'.

I think now I will delay my DD RT appointment for 4th April and simply keep a chart - as Spanishbuddha and Stefen again told me I should - of my progress and when I see that there is ANY significant concrete movement of any kind take up the RT course of action once more - and better informed.

I thought I might record it like this on a weekly basis:

LEFT HAND - 30.03.16

DD Nodule - width (with a boundary given) - 4mm
height: <.5mm

Colour: Tomato Texture: Soft

Stretch from Flat: Ring Finger: 1 " / Little Finger: 1"

RIGHT HAND: 30.03.16

Possible Nodule 1 (below little finger)
Width: 4mm ... Height: 0 mm/flat with skin line

Possible Nodule 2 (below ring finger)
Width: 4 mm ... Height: 0 mm/flat with skin line

Colour: Flesh coloured but potentially orange if pressed enough Texture: rougher than skin surrounding

Stretch from Flat: Ring Finger: 1"; Little Finger: - just short of an inch; 2.4 cm

What do you think? Is this a good way to record it to see concrete movement leading to RT?

Grateful for your kind advice.

Re: A New Boy on the DD Block .... with yet more questions ...

Aha, good to see you heard after all I'm in the same boat as you with some new activity on one hand; wait and see but also plan ahead.

I would recommend adding photos, also other symptoms such as tingling, aches, soreness, itching. etc. Another thing more subtle, may show in the photos or may not, but are minor skin changes, such as pinpricks, dimples, coloration.

You can try the 'prayer' test, similar to the table top, hands flat together in front as if praying, flex from the wrist and fingers to left and right, see how far you can go without forcing it, also open the fingers/thumb. Some days might be harder than others due to fatigue or stiffness, but you'll get to know your hands. (I don't bother as I play piano and know almost immediately if something is different).

Despite all this, don't let it take over.

Bless you, Spanishbuddha. As ever, you are most kind.

I will happily add every element you suggest. That should make a fulsome package and ward off any uncertainness by being able to effectively meet such at its own pass.

Bless you for all.

Here's hoping a smooth(er) path made lie on the road ahead for both of us.
