Re: knuckle pad removal scheduled
I'm looking for Dr. this willing to put his professional opinion on the line, to letting the VA know that fiber mitosis knuckle pads is Dupytrens. With this information I can get 20 years backpay. For over 20 years five operations on my hands, shattered elbow, shattered wrist, and many other problems because of this disease. All the time it took to heal for me to feel for these operations was paid for by me. Is not the diseases brought me is the US government. In fact I believe that my disease was created from a vaccine I separately obtained while in the U.S. Navy. It was in 1976 in Chicago. My lawyer told me in 1980 can never speak to anyone about this. My lawyer's name is Patrick Gray, he was the head of the FBI during Watergate. He became a lawyer in Groton Connecticut. Looking for Dr. to make a difference

Re: knuckle pad removal scheduled
I have developed several nonpainful knuckle pads over the years and they come and go. They seem to develop in the winter when I bang my knuckles iceclimbing and get much smaller in the summer. My Dupuytrens is a much bigger problem for me.
But, if they are painful maybe you guys should try the new NSAID creams like Voltaren and Pensaid. I use the Pensaid on my feet before running and hiking and find it helps reduce my plantar fasciits pain. I find the Pensaid is better absorbed into the tissues that the Voltaren. They are prescription Drugs in the US so you must go thru your Docs. The Pensaid is only approved for knee pain, just have your Doc write "use as prescribed" on the script and try it.
Best, Fjellver

Radiotherapy for Knuckle pads ...
I know and I met one patient in the office of Prof. Seegenschmiedt formerly in Essen, now practicing in Hamburg (Germany) who received radiotherapy for his recurrent and new knuckle pads which he had as part of Dupuytren's Disease ...
Prof. Seegenschmiedt has treated hundreds of Dupuytren's patients and he might know more about the frequency of this situation of Dupuytren's Disease together with knuckle pads ...
May be you contact him ... Larry

Re: knuckle pad removal scheduled
Hi I have knuckle pads on 3 MCP joints on each hand. I find at certain times the skin dries out and the surface skin breaks. I wear gloves for all manuel work and the rubbing of the gloves on the pads increases the problem. I use creme which contains urea which softens the pads . There is no doubt that knuckle pads are a strong indicator of dupuytrens.
