Vitamin E, oils, anyone have experience?

With the experiences I've heard others whom have had issues with surgery and xiaflex, has anyone tried alternative dupuytren treatment from sites like this http://dupuytrens-contracture.com/ ? It seems like a lot of money and I'm just unsure at this point. Please advise, thanks - Mark

I am trying dmso plus E plus enzymes etc...but so far no real results. I've done it about a month. I've thought: Maybe it would be worse without the dmso plus E...don't know... at any rate, good luck to you! I'm looking into cold laser or low light laser too...

it seems like most everyone on this board is into rt and not looking into alternatives...herbs? chinese medicine? acupuncture? these issues don't seem like the latest "hot" topics...I guess they have found they really don't work or there is just a move toward rt cause it really works!
Oh well...prior posts have been iffy about these subjects...

I don't know how advanced your Dupuytren is. Mine is at the earliest stages. I have a nodule on my right hand and a small chord that appears to 'come and go' depending on what I do or don't do. I have dound that a coconut butter balm my neice makes is soothing - but I don't know how much it helps. I have been using different sizes, densities and shapes of balls in the MELT excercise program. When I do the program twice a day - it definitely makes a difference. When I stop for a couple weeks because I do something really stupid like get my finger caught in a car door, the chord becomes more prominent. Before that, it was about gone. I have no difficulty with flexion in my hand. I'm hoping it stays where it is.
I don't know if this helps. A friend started me on the MELT excercise program because it was designed specifically for the fascia in one's hands and feet. I figured it would hurt and it hasn't. It also isn't that expensive. It comes with a DVD telling you how to do the excercises as well as an illustrated mini book.

I wish you the best of luck

Re: Vitamin E, oils, anyone have experience?

I read up on the various ways forward, and I found it was a case of you pays your money you make your choice kind of decision. I can understand people who are concerned about RT, but honestly I do not think there is any really good alternatives. With regards to oils and creams, I really do not think there is a lot of hope that these can have any credible effect. I would love to think they would work, but knowing a little bit about the condition and how I suspect I contracted it (via impact/stress on my hand) it is difficult to believe lotions and potions would work well.
I have had RT treatment and I have been very pleased with the results so far (early days still).
Interesting about doing a form of fitness regime, I have taken up swimming again after breaking my leg (not because of the dupuytrens). I have found the hand action in the water actually makes my hand feel very supple.

i'm afraid I've broken my leg /ankle 4 times so I feel for anyone going through it. The firdt winter is the hardest with bones reacting to the changes in weather. I found that an electric blanket worked wonders. True, it has nothing to do with the dupuytren's except that being on crutches for an extended amount of time isn't beneficial.

Best of luck.

4 times, how terrible.
I am finding it really difficult just once, but I did manage to also tear a ligament and dislocate the ankle joint at the same time. I think its going to be between 3 - 6 months before it is in reasonable condition.
