Xiaflex in Fort Myers Florida, Dr Sagini
He claims he has had excellent results with Xiaflex, should I question him more? I hate to question his ability, but I don't want him practicing on me. My insurance has approved this now its time to make a decision. any suggesions

Re: Xiaflex in Fort Myers Florida, Dr Sagini
It is your body and you will live with the outcome. I would ask some more specific questions, what complications you might expect. How long was the longest recovery. Did they have anyone get an infection. Does he have any photos of positive outcomes. If they are evasive I would look else where.
You might also Google "how to check out a surgeon" to get ideas on what to ask. There are also rate MD websites out there but it seems mainly disgruntled people post to them.
Good Luck, MNS

Re: Xiaflex in Fort Myers Florida, Dr Sagini
I had a very successful Xiaflex procedure on my left hand in July. The dr is a plastic surgeon in the PNW who specializes in hands and is skilled in all DC hand surgeries, NA and Xiaflex. He could have recommended any procedure but felt that Xiaflex was the best procedure for me. Make sure the dr you choose has a successful track record with ALL DC remedial procedures, not just Xiaflex. I had another hand specialist tell me surgery was the only recourse a few years ago, but I'm glad I waited.
