Cold Laser

Does anyone out there have any information on "cold laser" treatment of DC?? I have had one visit last week and at the first of the year I plan on a 9 treatment plan ( 3 x per week) I have exhausted everything else.. OS( 2 bad surguries), NA ( denied), Auxillium study ( turned down) , radiation ( no visible nodules to zap) my DC spirals around my cords under the joints of my fingers pulling them down not in to my palm.. Not sure what kind of DC I have but it looks like the worst to treat.. Any info out there would be appreciated

Re: Cold Laser

J Ann, I had cold laser treatment a couple of years ago and it worked for me. However I was in the very beginning stages, with 3 small nodules and cords. I went a couple of times per week for a month or two. The cords are gone and nodules substantially reduced in size. Treatment is painless. It also worked for my karpal tunnel, which was treated at the same time. Linda

Re: Cold Laser

Click on Search in the top tool bar, type in cold laser and hit return. This will show a few more posts from our forum, some of them might include links.

Re: Cold Laser

Yes there are a few posts on it but I was looking for information on wavelength, watts, etc.

What are the other uses of a Cold Laser in medicine?

Has there been any other reports on use of a Cold Laser on DD?

Re: Cold Laser

After some research, I have found a bit on Cold Laser.

Cold Laser systems are typically 635nm / 5mw, and 808nm / 150mw. Some are 910nm / 250mw

635 is in the red and 808 & 910 is just out of the visible end of red, infrared.

For the theory, look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photobiomodulation

An EBAY search shows many brands and prices, but one could buy the laser modules, in the $100.00 range, and do it yourself. I'm confused because the theory, cell growth, is what we don't want, right?

I'm still studying this but will keep an open mind.

When I first saw the post on Cold Laser, I had in my mind blasting the nodules with lots of IR (heat), and "cooking" the nodule to kill it. Sort of like the radiation treatment.

Re: Cold Laser

I recently read an article about a thermo device (not cold laser) which is being used in cancer treatment. This device seems to heat the cancer tissue assuming this heating will not kill the tissue but make it more sensitive to other treatment, like radiotherapy. It was also thought that the thermo treatment increases the blood circulation in this area which was considered as an additional positive effect. As this was done in a major German hospital I thought it might be useful and I actually wondered whether the effect of massaging is simply a heating of the diseased tissue.

That's not really related to cold laser but come into mind when I read Joe's post.
