Hi Colleen

DD can be painful, usually sore nodules, or sensitive aching hands with cramps or pins and needles where the nerves are impacted, but I have not heard before of the type of pain you describe. I would ask your doctor to check out symptoms of tendinitis, trapped or compressed nerves, or similar, and perhaps try some exercises or streches a physio can recommend, including a RICE routine to see if that helps. For DD pain people try hot, cold, pain patches, external application of NSAID such as Voltarol, gentle massage with magnesium oil, night hand splinting to a neutral position, wearing compression gloves, etc, but there is no specific recommendation.
