Can Anything Be Done for Dupuytren's Nodules?
Quote: I first started noticing a lump on the palm of my right hand a few years ago. It then became two lumps and the beginning of a cord forming. I've been to two hand specialists and both have told me there's nothing to be done at this stage and that I should just basically ignore it and contact them if I develop 30 degrees of contracture.
I imagine they are probably right, but I have read in a few places that it might be wise to take action now before the condition progresses too much. Currently I can extend the finger about 90%. I don't have constant pain in my hand, but it is uncomfortably tight and accidental stretching results in pretty sharp pain. I would love to get some sort of treatment for this thing. I'm 52 years old, male and otherwise in very good health. Could anyone recommend a specialist in the NYC or Hudson Valley area that might take a more proactive approach to dealing with this? Hi
If I was in your shoes I would take the hour's drive for a consultation with Dr Pess in NJ. Although he has established a reputation as a skilled and leading NA practitioner, he is an overall expert familiar with all the options and will provide the advice you need.
Best wishes SB
