Could this be Dupuytren's?

I'm a twenty-four year old female. I've had an odd sensation in my left pinky/lateral part of my ring finger for the last few months. I first dismissed it as poor circulation, but lately my last two fingers are curled in, and it takes almost all of my effort to straighten them out.

I have no nodules that I can't distinguish as not being present in my right hand also, but I've recently been experiencing an intense itching in the base of my palm that's under my pinky.

The sensation in my hand is not painful, but incredibly, incredibly distracting and annoying. It makes me want to jump out of my skin.

I described this condition to my Mother, and she said she experienced the same problem, but it was cured by a few visits to the chiropractor's officer.

Does this sound like Dupuytren's, or simply a case of a pinched nerve? I've yet to see a doctor for a diagnosis.

Thank you so much for your advice.

It does not sound like Dupuytren's. Contracture generally takes longer to contract and once contracted you can't straighten them by manipulation.

Re: Could this be Dupuytren's?

Hi, well I did have a sensation at the base of my 4th and 5th fingers when I first started noticing that my hand didn't feel (work) the same and I'm very interested in the recent posts that mentioned curled 4th,5th fingers because it was this that had me sent on a different path.
So is it a sign of Dupuytren's?... Also a trip to that chiropractor may just help resolve it.

Regards,
Tjay.
