Dupuytrens & caffeine

Does anyone know if caffeine makes Dupuytrens worse? My hand got worse, so I scheduled surgery for December 2007. I also reduced caffeline on 9/1/07, because I had been using it a lot, and just had a hunch that it might have contributed to the dlisease getting worse. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

I had the same thought, and for months now have been drinking decaf. It is very unscientific but I do not see where it has helped. However, to be safe I will continue decaf regime.

Caffeine Connection?

Having studied this disease for years as a patient I have never come across any suggested connection with caffeine. Many people experience stops and starts in the progression of this highly unpredictable disease. It's easy to think a change in the condition is related to this or that, but few things have been positively identified. Caffeine is not one of them. I'd do some more experimenting of starting and stopping your caffeine for a few months before I came to a conclusion that in your particular case Caffeine is the villain.
