NA dr. mahoney peoria IL
I had a ring-finger approaching 90 degrees with cords and nodules. After reading everything I could find including much valuable information on this site, I decided on NA and found Dr. Mahoney through this site. I had previously been advised by a very well respected hand surgeon at a major metropolitan teaching hospital that the only remedy available was surgery with the long, slow recovery.
Within a few days of having the procedure I've resumed all normal activities including many things which I had switched hands for unconsciously over the years. It's a remarkable and nearly instant transition.
I'm very grateful for the doctors like Dr. Mahoney who are offering this remedy to those of us who previously had no good options to consider.

Your story and experience are repeated daily by people who trust the data we and others have presented on line as opposed to their uninformed CHS. We don’t hear from all these people but it’s nice when we do. Thanks.

Why do they say such things?
Getting away from Dups for a moment, I have a dry eye problem for which it was suggested that I have the tear ducts sealed permanently by cauterisation. I said no and eventually had removable silicone punctum plugs imported from The States which cured the problem. I find it quite worrying if you transpose these examples into other areas and need to trust what you are told

I guess the general advice is whenever you talk to a doctor, don't delegate thinking. Use your own judgement as well. Maybe it's a little bit like financial investments: there are lots of experts around and they really are experts but at the end of the day it is your money (your health) and it makes sense becoming knowledgable yourself and making your own decision. I think doctors, when becoming ill themselves, do exactly the same.

To a large degree, even though MDs are medical scientists, Medicine is an “art”. Specialists are *particularly* myopic. Assume that doctors, while well meaning, are like blind men trying to describe an Elephant by feel. The guy up front feeling the tusk (surgeon) will have a much different take than the guy at the rear feeling, well, whatever :-)
Unfortunately, when it comes to CHS you will be told you must have open surgery 99% of the time, so getting 10 different opinions will not help. You have to get lucky and know a patient in the know, or like to do internet research. That is one of the reasons we are here. And now it’s time for a shameless plug.
If you feel well served by this society, consider the money, time and pain you saved by having NA and/or radiation therapy, etc., and make a donation so others can learn what you were fortunate enough to learn. Thanks
