Can't get enough information sites, excellent

However, I'd been reading a few sites this evening about the treatment of benign conditions using radiation. I was once again feeling more confident that I really should go down that route but then I read the radiation section on this site and that knocked me back again

Something I've never understood in terms of ethics is how the doctors- two MDs and one PhD involved in the first and subsequent collagenase trials can have an unbiased approach when each of the three of them has a relationship with Auxilium. I found the information below online and disclosed because of articles or presentations these doctors have made.


"Lawrence C. Hurst, MD is a product consultant for Auxilium Pharmaceuticals and has received property rights to collagenase for related work at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. "

"Vincent R. Hentz, MD is on an Auxilium Pharmaceuticals advisory committee."

"Marie Badalamente, PhD Stony Brook NY—at least at one time had either stock or stock options of Biospecifics Technologies Corp.stock and is a consultant to- Auxilium "

Dr. Hurst and Dr. Hentz are particpating in the current trials. Another MD participating in the current trials is:

"Edward Akelman, MD. Dr Akelman is on the scientific advisory board for Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, and Biomimetic Therapeutics"

I would hardly call the Dupuytren's Learning Channel unbiased and really wonder about the trials and other docs getting paid to conduct them.
