Radiation Treatment Issues
I have the beginning stages of DC with a nodule and a cord. I have no contracture yet, but it does seem to be getting worse.
My questions are:
Has anyone had radiation in the US and where?
What did it cost?
Will radiation be covered by my medical insurance?
Thanks!

Re: Radiation Treatment Issues
Unfortunateyl we can't offer many addresses of clinics in the US, we only know of VCU (see http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radiation_therapy.html). Someone from this forum has been treated there but I don't know the forum name and wouldn't like to give the real name. But you might contact Laurie Cuttino at VCU.

Re: Radiation Treatment Issues
You might want to contact Dr. Kline. He is very involved with the radiation treatment. He works closely with a radiologist in his area. He is recommending radiation for the very early stages and then NA followed with radiation for the early stages of the fingers bending. He feels the radiation helps to stop the condition from returning. My husband just had NA last Thursday (June 28, 2007) and is very happy with the results. His results weren't 100 %, but that is because he ignored it far too long. His ring finger was almost touching his palm and his little finger was following behind. The doctor didn't even recommend radiation for my husband because he was too severe.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be of help. Sandie sandiesavon@msn.com

Re: Radiation Treatment Issues
Hi, I have contacted Dr. Kline and am in the process of getting in touch with the local radiologist in his area. I still am not sure how much trouble I will get from my insurance.
