sending e-mail to a registered user

Hi Colleen, it sure would help if we had a little user guide for our forum. When I will find time I will compile one.

Here is how to send an e-mail to another registered user:

1. login
2. click on "My profile"
3. click on "send e-mail"
4. select user who you want to send your mail to
5. type in title, your text, and don't forget to mention in your text your own e-mail address because the other user will receive your mail with the anonymous "forum_dont_reply" sender. If you don't write him/her your return address you probably won't get any response.
6. submit e-mail

Good luck!

Wolfgang

Re: Radiotherapy

Hi All,

I am a 29 year old male who was just diagnosed. I have a node in my right hand. If I undergo radiotherapy and it doesnt work years down the road, can I still try NA?

Re: Radiotherapy

Absolutely. Radiotherapy does not preclude any other treatment.

Re: Radiotherapy

Thank you. That is great to hear. Have there been any cases in which after radiotherapy the growth accelerates?

Active Couple I am 65 Yr male Aust.(Adelaide) At 35 Yr. Idendtified D.P. The bad news from an informed source is that this disease seems to be attacking at a younger age. I did not have to be operated on for some 15 years,& I think it is important to use stretching exercises on both hands,ie.hand flat on table ,raise wrist place other hand on top to give resistance .Not aggresively slowly up to 30 seconds. Avoid using screw drivers etc that place extreme pressure in the palm.Use power tools that avoid vibration. I generally wear cotton gloves which give added protection to try and reduce trauma.I suggest you monitor the progress.ie. place hand on a flat surface palm upwards and measure with a simple ruler or micrometer and record . Ideally with the nails on the finger should all touch the flat surface. I did develope noduals on the back of my knuckles particularly on the small fingers.Use creme with Viteman E try keep hands supple.Should the contrcature occur dont wait too long to treat. Regards NEWMAN.

Re: Radiotherapy

I have not heard of any reports that readiotherapy would accelerate the growth, it generally slows down growth of cords/nodules. But it is not as efficient on cords as it is on nodules (which are biologically a different type of cells). Therefore it might be that cords, especially the bigger ones will keep growing though more slowly. Current therapies unfortunately can't cure the disease per se but at least they buy time which is good.
