Request for volunteers in providing feedback on RT for DD audit tool?

Hi,

I guess some of you have been following the progress of the UK NICE consultation exercise on the treatment of Dupuytren’s Disease (DD) with Radiotherapy (RT) in the UK?

When the treatment is approved in November 2010, NICE will be publishing an ‘audit tool’ to keep track of patients and their treatment, this will allow NICE to analyse over a period of time how well the treatment is working.

NICE have said it would be helpful to get feedback on this ‘audit tool’ prior to 30 September (the end of the consultation exercise). We are therefore looking for volunteers to comment and provide feedback on the tool. It would be particularly helpful if anyone who has received RT treatment whether from the UK or elsewhere (Germany, USA, Australia etc.) is able to comment on the tool. Feedback from clinicians would be particularly helpful, so if you have been a patient it would be very helpful to forward this request to your clinician; in the likely event they are not reading this forum!

Ema O’Neill-Jones is managing the audit tool development at NICE and would be very happy if you contacted her directly to volunteer your help, her email address is Ema.ONeill-Jones@nice.org.uk .

Your help in improving this tool is very much appreciated and will hopefully contribute to widening patient treatment options both in the UK and worldwide. Over time it will also provide further hard evidence of the benefit of treating Dupuytren’s Disease with Radiotherapy.

Thanks,

Philip
