    		Sore corn/boil type spot, 12 years on from Radiotherapy.

    Hi all

    Has anyone else developed such a sore spot? Mine is about 15mm from the base of my little finger on the cord which has always been visible and just at the point where my hand folds which makes it uncomfortable to the pressure.

    I could, if I could get an appointment, go to a GP at my practice but wouldn't be confident in getting a suitable answer so thought that I'd throw it out here first.

    Is it perhaps a sore or inflamed nodule or cord thickening? Or is it totally unrelated, maybe on the inside of the joint such as a ganglion or cyst? Always good to get a doctor to look at lumps and bumps. In the meantime local application of ice or a topical NSAID such as Voltarol might help with pain.

    Well whatever it was it seems to have calmed down, with the soreness and inflammation going and the area/skin returning to what it was like before, so good news.

    Yes good news. I've had sore spots with 'lumps' come up after forgetting to protect my hands when using hard hand tools for DIY, garden or on the car etc. So far in every case they have gone away, but I usually get on the case with ice, massage, anti-inflammatories and so on. It's a reminder not to take your hands for granted.
